Brian W 43 Posted October 24 Just got an email from SwitchBot that I think would make a few of us excited about the possibility. Here is the email: SwitchBot Curtain funded in 12 minutes! Help us unlock the stretch goals! Thank you for your support to help us hit our goal in 12 minutes. More than 1000 backers pledged over $160,000 so far. It means so much to us after the months of preparation leading up to this. But we're not done yet! The Kickstarter campaign has 38 days to go, and we have big plans! STRETCH GOAL #1 Unlock Direct Integration with Smartthings at the $300,000 mark. We heard you when you said connecting Smartthings through IFTTT being laggy. AYL_Brian 313 Posted October 25 Oh totally @Brian W! I right away posted this on Twitter and I must say...this would be huge. The change here is the ability to physically do things. I think this could literally connect the old home with a smart home.

This creates avenues for people to keep their things and make the, smart with a very small investment. I think this is huge for the consumer and for SwitchBot. Imagine the push they will receive when this integration happens.
FrankE 133 Posted October 27 Agreed. In the meantime I'm using a SwitchBot Skill in Alexa. IFTTT also supports SwitchBot
Krusher38 2 Posted November 28 This is great, any updates? Can you explain the difference between hub plus and hub mini for switchbot?
Brian W 43 Posted November 28 @Krusher38 in talking with the SwitchBot team my understanding is these hubs have the same control functionality, just a new physical format and visual appearance. I recently received the new hub to create demonstrations for a senior smart home project I am working on. It seems to work the same so far, if I find any differences I will be happy to share.
FrankE 133 Posted November 28 Hi Brian, Can you share some details on your senior home project? Frank
Brian W 43 Posted November 29 @FrankE I finally have it our our educational calendar for May 21st. I have most of my PowerPoint ready to go, but I will be filming a few examples videos in my home to use in the PowerPoint. My real next focus though is to create some hands on demonstrations that I can setup in the classroom. We are sticking with very simple basic concepts, because the goal right now is to open up the minds of our seniors and their caregivers of the value these technologies can make in their lives.
AYL_Brian 313 Posted November 29 This integration opens up worlds...what I didn't get is that I could turn on the IR based devices that I've attached to the hub. Whoa

Whoa That’s a huge part of what takes integration from good news to great news.
