    Seizure detection

This is more of a psa as I researched this topic recently and found a couple of good apps for seizure detection. One is android and I set this up for my dad after reading good feedback on related forums versus a lot of negative feedback for other specific devices http://www.openseizuredetector.org.uk/?page_id=1128 the other is iOS called SeizAlarm in the App Store. We are using this one for one of our children. This one has a monthly service fee but well worth it. It also includes call feature which the other one does not offer only sms. It’s a battery hog so will probably have to get the newest watch or possibly just add a second. One for day and one for night option. These are obviously just nice to have and not FDA cleared for this purpose although I’ll tell you have better feedback than those devices. Just wanted to share in case anyone else could benefit from the information. Based on some recent patents Apple registered, I’m interested to see where this technology goes in the future. ***Update: adding link to Graham’s video for installing Open Seizure Detector
  2. Anyone having issues with their Wyze Sensors deactivating from the bridge? I don't know what happened, but I have to reset them now.
  3. Hey Everyone, I've just seen an article about a new sensor that's started shipping, it claims to be able to drive personalised room by room automations, so you can have a set of lights come on to different colours or different brightness based upon which person enters the room. It seems to work on Bluetooth LTE so I can only imagine it utilises the proximity of a specified phone bluetooth signature. https://www.getroomme.com/
  4. There has been a problem for at least 48 hours where IOS & Android users have been unable to create or modify Alexa Routines that trigger from contact or motion sensors. Fire Tablet users can still perform this operation https://www.amazonforum.com/forums/devices/smart-home/520988-cant-create-new-routines-involving-sensor-devices Frank
  5. I have a video coming out on Tuesday (June 20, 2019) that will explain what I'm doing here, but for now just understand that this is my bathroom setup! I'm using the following (mostly affiliate links): ActionTiles: https://ActionTiles.com/AutoYLife0621 15% off Coupon Code: AutoYLife0621 8 x Sengled Element Classic ZigBee Bulbs: US - https://amzn.to/2XWFyCZ UK - https://amzn.to/2ZzVLhN CAN - https://amzn.to/2IRfhQ0 1 x Ikea Tradfri: https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/p/tradfri-led-bulb-e26-1000-lumen-wireless-dimmable-warm-white-globe-opal-white-00339435/ Aeotec Multisensor 6: US - https://amzn.to/2FnMv8G UK - https://amzn.to/2MZpWO4 CAN - https://amzn.to/31NEyTW Samsung SmartThings Hub V2 (V3 is good too): US - https://amzn.to/31NIjsr UK - https://amzn.to/2L6TB5h CAN - https://amzn.to/31IsPpH I also have a Philips Hue Bloom but you could use any light as a warning light. You'll understand what I mean later. I have used the 8 Sengled bulbs in 2 fixtures: Right now, my scheme looks like this from a pure "programming" standpoint: Now for the SmartThings Automation Screens: The first two screens just show my list of Automations for this whole setup Bathroom 50, 30, and 10 trigger on the virtual switches that are used to manage the overall scheme. The timeline is during the day (60 before sunrise, 60 after sunset), and then there must be motion and a lux or luminance level. You'll also notice that lower lighting levels are prioritized. See, the virtual switch comes on, but above in the % On automations (below), there are additional conditions in the 30 and 50% routines. That extra condition is that a lower lighting level isn't already on. The Bathroom 50, 30, and 10% On trigger on the final Scene(s) that I've set up. It's 50%, 30%, and 10% for all 9 lights in my bathroom right now. The virtual switches are auto-off after 10 minutes (see the first set of automations). Once all 3 virtual switches go off, then the lights turn off. Overnight, using 10% lighting all night. Trigger on Motion only, not lighting level Simple warning for UV reading. Could go out to a speaker too.
  6. Looking for sensors that are affordable. I'll use them on drawers and cabinets. Motion detector, vibration possibly. Is there any options? I do not have Samsung smart things, what care my options without it?
