About Me

  1. I'm a heavy SmartThings user with virtual switches to receive input from Alexa and virtual contact closures to trigger Alexa Routines. I also use WebCore for logic and the new SmartThings mobile app for some logic. My question is this... "what am I missing but not using Google Home Automation?" I haven't checked in about a year and back then it only supported voice commands and timed routines, but I really liked how the Nest doorbell could pop up a video on the Home Hub Since I work with Android devices and Amazon AWS Lambda for Alexa Home Automation Skills, I thought it would be good to take a look at the native Android voice assistant. Does is still use two parts, Google Assistant & Google Home? My focus is solutions for seniors and those with accessibility needs by helping their family members with DIY instructions Thanks, FrankE
